I studied normalization of databases the whole day long, but I couldn't do the 2NF and 3NF in Access because I could not make relationships between keys composed by many fields. From 10:15 PM to 11:15 PM I studied Logical and Computing Circuits, since I have a very important test in this class tomorrow.

I studied Flip-Flop circuits (NOR, NAND, S-C, J-K, and D designs). After that I practiced a little on Linux Terminal for my practical test, which was at 12:00 and we worked in couples this time in the test, so I worked with a friend. In the afternoon and night I continued studying Linux. This time I practiced and learned about running scripts from different levels, and I was able to create a script so it can be executed when the computer is restarted and as a previous process before loading the graphical environment. By creating scripts on /etc/init.d and a symbolic link on /etc/rc2.d (in case that I start in level 2), I can run a script since Linux is loading. If I change the line "id:2:initdefault:" (which is located in /etc/inittab) for "id:1:initdefault:", I would be running the PC in text mode only. But if I start the PC with "id:2:initdefalt:" and if I want to run in text mode (not graphical), I can also do it by changing the name of the file /etc/rc2.d/S21gdm for /etc/rc2.d/K21gdm. Changing "S" for "K" makes the difference. "S" would start graphical mode and "K" would not start it, and that's why only text mode would be used in the second case. It's really cool to learn this stuff, and it can be very useful too.

I worked in the morning, afternoon and night on compiling the Linux kernel on Linux Debian Etch. I was able to do it successfully in my first try, which made me feel really happy, but I did everything carefully and I wrote an article about how to do it step by step, so it's in my website now for everyone to see and learn how to do it: http://jaimemontoya.com/compilaciondelkerneldelin.html.

I studied Accounting during 30 minutes. Then I studied pull-up and pull-down resistors for the practical lab that I have tonight. I sent the NVI Bible in Spanish to Mary Sturges today and I bought a guide for Bible study called Panorama de la Biblia, which I'll send to my cousing who is in Argentina. I had a soccer match with Sistemas F.C. against Morongones, and we tied the game 0-0. At 4:45 PM I had a practical lab for Electronic and Computing Circuits class and we just connected some gates on the breadboard and probed the way they work, with pull-up and pull-down resistors. I worked with a friend and we both got 9.5. So the presentation about the program Simulador de Circuitos Digitales Versión Preliminar 0.9.4 represents 25% of the second period for me, and I got 8.8, plus this last evaluation that represents also 25% of the second period and I got 9.5. After that, at 6:45 PM I had my Accounting exam.

I went to sleep at 4:00 AM because I was trying once again to install Java plugin on Linux Debian Etch, but I couldn't. So I wrote an article about how to install Flash plugin on Linux (http://instalarflashpluginenlinux.blogspot.com). I woke up at 10:30 AM and I continued trying to install Java plugin on Linux Debian Etch, and after working so hard to find the way to do it, I was able to install it and now I can run Java applets from Debian, for example I can go into my chatroom (www.jaimemontoya.com/jaimemontoyaschatroom.html) from Linux and it works well. I had Operating Systems class at 5:00 PM. After that I had Databases class at 6:45 PM. So I wrote an article about Installing Java Plugin on Linux Debian Etch (http://instalarjavapluginenlinuxdebianetch.blogspot.com).
